Description
The funding measure Lower Austria Funding for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Abroad is aimed at non-profit associations, interest groups, and development policy organizations with headquarters or proven ties to Lower Austria. The goal is to support projects in developing countries according to the OECD DAC list in the fields of development cooperation as well as agriculture and rural development. A continuous intake of funding applications ensures flexible scheduling, while the funding is granted as a non-repayable grant. Essential funding criteria include partnership cooperation with a local partner organization, consideration of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, as well as the integration of gender equality, ecological sustainability, and self-responsibility in all project phases.
The funding objective is the sustainable improvement of living conditions and development prospects of disadvantaged population groups, the reduction of poverty, disease, and hunger, as well as rapid emergency aid in humanitarian crises following unforeseen events. Applicants must submit a detailed project description including goal definition, target group analysis, planned activities, expected results, and indicators. In addition, evidence of organizational structure and financial status, a monitoring and evaluation concept, as well as a financing and sustainability concept must be provided. Furthermore, information on the context and initial situation, the technical education and information plan for technology introductions, and the connection to Lower Austria must be documented. Projects in development cooperation are decided upon through a semi-annual review, while humanitarian aid applications are assessed promptly.
