Description
The Lower Austria Internship Grant supports students and apprentices in Lower Austria who undertake a voluntary internship in craft businesses as well as in the professions of cook and restaurant specialist. A main residence in Lower Austria for at least six months, completion of the 9th grade, and ongoing general or vocational secondary education are prerequisites. Mandatory internships are excluded; instead, a maximum funding duration of four weeks per calendar year is granted. The grant covers 100% of the internship remuneration and amounts to €120 per week. Applications can be submitted online and are available from June 1, 2025, retroactively only for periods up to three months before the application date. Funding is awarded until the budget is exhausted and is transferred after the completion of the internship.
For the application, the internship payslip, a confirmation of main residence from the municipality, and the 9th-grade completion certificate must be submitted. The offices of the Lower Austria State Government, Finance Group (F), Labor Market Department (F4) are responsible for approval and payment. The guidelines regulate the funding process according to transparenzportal.gv.at and specify that benefits under the Labor Market Promotion Act or the Unemployment Insurance Act do not exclude eligibility.
