Description

The Nospa Savings Bank Foundation of 1869 Flensburg supports non-profit associations, interest groups, and public-law institutions based in the business area of Nord-Ostsee Sparkasse in implementing projects in the Flensburg region that promote social cohesion. Twice a year, an independent advisory board decides on grants for initiatives ranging from child and youth welfare to elderly care and arts and cultural events. A focus is also placed on sustainability projects and crime prevention. A prerequisite is a feasible project start after the application submission and a verifiable contribution from the applicants, as full funding is generally not provided.

Measures that create sustainable added value for the region, stimulate creative engagement, and strengthen democratic participation are funded. Evaluation criteria include social benefit, the degree of own contribution, and local feasibility. Non-fundable items include pure printing and production costs, fees, acquisitions or consumables that belong to the primary tasks of an institution, as well as civil engineering works or the (re)acquisition of cost-intensive cultural assets. Interested non-profit organizations can submit their applications each spring and autumn, thereby contributing to a vibrant, solidarity-based community in Flensburg.
