Description
The State of Lower Austria supports, under thematic areas such as social affairs, children and youth, as well as labor & social affairs, the operation of emergency shelters as low-threshold, temporary housing options with accompanying support services for young people experiencing crisis situations. Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations based or operating in Lower Austria, whose suitability has been determined in accordance with § 26 NÖ KJHG and who meet the guidelines for lump-sum funding of social services. The grant is provided in the form of a subsidy and is based on classification in priority level 7 as well as the availability of funds in the state budget. Initial applications can be submitted by March 31 each year, and follow-up applications by January 31.
Organizations must submit a complete funding application, including a current excerpt from the association or commercial register and a detailed overall budget forecast. Documentation of service delivery and proof of use must be provided in accordance with the requirements of the lump-sum funding guideline. This program aims to strengthen flexible support structures that offer young people a protected space on their own initiative, without replacing full-time residential care. By supporting demand-oriented services, the funding contributes to ensuring the protection and personal development of young people in need and to sustainably closing gaps in the public youth welfare system.
