Description
The NRW Sports Foundation Scholarship offers performance-oriented young athletes in North Rhine-Westphalia targeted support on their path to a successful sports and educational career. Talents from Olympic, Paralympic, Deaflympic, and World Games sports are supported with a monthly allowance of €300 over a period of twelve months. This unique nationwide initiative by the Sports Foundation NRW honors outstanding athletic achievements and excellent qualifications in education, studies, or profession, and accompanies scholarship holders on their way to becoming exemplary personalities in sports.
Requirements for application include excellent sporting results, outstanding achievements in education or studies, as well as an ongoing talent support application with the Sports Foundation NRW. In addition, a connection to NRW—through club membership, training location, or primary residence—and a corresponding squad status in the youth sector must be demonstrated. For the application, the talent support application, transcript of records or high school diploma, proof of credit points and grade point average, as well as information on the university and degree program are required. Ongoing application deadlines allow for flexible entry into the program; awards are made by an independent review committee based on sporting, academic, and formal criteria. Interested athletes can submit a support application at any time and benefit from this stable foundation for their dual career.
