Description

The certification and quality development program for non-formal education actors in Northern Germany is aimed at individuals, associations, federations, foundations, and educational institutions based or active in Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schleswig-Holstein, and Saxony-Anhalt. Within the framework of this free procedure, free training sessions, personal consulting services, and an annual certification process are offered. The goal is to promote the implementation of the Quality Standards for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and to make high-quality, future-oriented educational work visible. The program supports the further development of pedagogical mission statements and concepts and their practical application in one’s own offerings.

The process includes a series of online workshops on mission statement development, pedagogical concepts, and application preparation, as well as individual support up to the personal examination interview with the certification commission. The documentation of educational work, fulfillment of the ESD quality standards, and the personal interview are evaluated. Applicants submit a completed application form, their mission statement, a pedagogical concept, and documents according to the guidelines. Since training dates and consulting services are continuously available, interested parties can flexibly integrate the procedure into their daily work routine. Overall, the quality seal opens up a platform for networking, exchange, and continuous professionalization of the non-formal ESD scene throughout the entire North.
