Description

The Horizon Europe call "Impact-driven research on realising the full potential of cultural heritage, arts and cultural and creative industries" supports transnational research projects in Europe with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and social cohesion. Companies, small and large research institutions, non-profit organizations, interest groups, and individuals can collaborate within a consortium of at least three EU and Associated countries. The aim is to develop methods, models, and tools that utilize cultural heritage and the creative economy as drivers of sustainable innovation and as a means to strengthen European identity. The two-stage submission process begins with a concept note by 04/05/2027 (17:00 Brussels time) and a full proposal submission by 30/09/2027 (17:00 Brussels time). The European funding rate is 100%, with funding amounts per project ranging from €2 million to €4 million for a duration of up to 48 months.

Funding covers personnel, material, and travel costs, equipment and publication expenses, as well as subcontracting services. Evaluation criteria include "Excellence" and "Impact" in the first phase, and additionally "Quality and efficiency of implementation" in the second phase. Important prerequisites are experience in EU projects and a consortium agreement. The actions must adhere to open science principles, comply with ethics and data protection standards, and present a solid exploitation and dissemination plan. Interdisciplinary projects that are networked with cultural actors, citizens, and economic partners and deliver transformative insights that both strengthen social cohesion and contribute to digital transformation are supported. The European Commission thus aims to make an effective contribution to the preservation and further development of culture and the creative economy in Europe.
