- Health insurance contract commencement from 01.05.2018

- Proof of completed training as a general practitioner
- Copy of the concluded § 2 health insurance contract for a planned position in Burgenland
- Copy of the contract as a municipal doctor or as an additional post-mortem examiner
- Copy of the training certificate for the treatment of substitution patients including declaration of commitment
- Consent form for medical care of surrounding elderly residential and nursing homes
- Proof of the guaranteed in-kind or financial contribution from the municipality of residence or the municipality of the secondary practice
Description
In view of the impending retirement of around 60% of general practitioners in Burgenland, the state supports the establishment or takeover of practices by general practitioners with a § 2 health insurance contract for a planned position in Burgenland. The funding runs from 01.01.2025 until further notice and is aimed at physicians who maintain their general medical practice in Burgenland for at least five years. This is intended to ensure comprehensive care in rural areas and to strengthen the settlement of professionals in the fields of health, labor & social affairs. The grant supports private individuals in fully implementing their outpatient care and thus makes a significant contribution to securing the presence of general practitioners in the federal state.
A prerequisite for funding approval is completed training as a general practitioner, a valid § 2 health insurance contract as of 01.05.2018, as well as a binding commitment to provide care for patients in Burgenland for five years. Eligible expenses include renovations, furnishing, technical and medical-technical equipment, as well as costs for establishing necessary contracts. The maximum funding amount is up to €60,000, whereby an equal contribution must be made by the municipality of residence. The application must include proof of training, the health insurance contract, if applicable, service contracts as a municipal doctor or medical examiner, training certificates for substitution treatment, as well as confirmations regarding care of elderly residential and nursing homes and municipal in-kind or financial contributions.
