Organizational Development of the Foundation for Environment and Development North Rhine-Westphalia

The Environment and Development Foundation North Rhine-Westphalia supports non-profit environmental and development organizations with tailored consulting grants. The aim is the targeted development of internal structures, decision-making and communication processes, as well as the creation of a viable action plan. Only external consulting costs up to a funding amount of €10,000 are eligible for support. Eligible applicants are registered associations and federations based in North Rhine-Westphalia that identify as environmental or development organizations and pursue non-profit objectives. A prerequisite for approval is, among other things, obtaining at least three written offers starting from a net consulting service value of €5,000, as well as the active involvement of full-time and volunteer members in the development process. The quality of the consulting and the suitability of the offer are central evaluation criteria.

Applications can be submitted at any time but should be made at least two months before the project start. In addition to a project description (two to three pages), a procurement note with the offers, the specific consulting proposal, the minutes of the initial meeting, and a detailed cost and financing plan must be submitted. The funding covers all material costs of the external consulting and supports the analysis of strengths and weaknesses, clarification of organizational purposes, as well as the improvement of cooperation and leadership structures. Through the developed action plan, organizations receive a solid foundation to independently continue targeted change projects and sustainably increase their effectiveness.
