Description
The Fonds Soziales Wien supports with the Supplementary Care Allowance for Personal Assistance a voluntary, monthly direct benefit for people with severe physical disabilities in Vienna. The aim is to strengthen self-determination and individual lifestyle within the private household. All expenses for assistance hours, social security and income tax contributions, costs for recognized PA service providers, tax consulting, as well as account management fees are funded at 100%. Within a twelve-month accounting period, the approved funds can be used flexibly to secure everyday tasks, personal care, mobility, communication, and social participation. Semi-annual or monthly accounting ensures transparency; any credits or repayments result from the comparison of advance payments and actual expenses. A vacation solution and an adjusted family member quota also allow for short-term changes in assistance needs.
Eligible to apply are privately living individuals with care allowance levels 3 to 7, Austrian citizenship or EEA equivalence, main residence in Vienna for six months, capacity for self-administration, and aged between 18 and 65 years. A prerequisite is the absence of similar or equivalent funded benefits and a valid power of attorney. The application can be submitted at any time to the FSW customer service. Required documents include a self-assessment of assistance needs, proof of income, care allowance notice, PAA hour records, photo ID, proof of citizenship, as well as medical reports and proof of a power of attorney.
