Description

The European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (GFCNI) supports non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and interest groups in Europe that advocate for patient- and family-centered health policies in maternal and neonatal care. Within the framework of this sponsorship program, partners are supported throughout the entire policy and advocacy cycle: from research and analysis of regulatory frameworks to the development of evidence-based strategies, as well as public relations, stakeholder engagement, and systematic monitoring & evaluation. Special emphasis is placed on initiatives focusing on maternal and neonatal health, demonstrating proven advocacy experience and holding non-profit status as an organization. Through targeted workshops, capacity-building measures, and network formation, civil society actors and research institutions are strengthened in their campaign and policy work.

The fund offers a continuous application period, enabling flexible project management and timely responses to political developments. Funded projects may include consulting and training & education, as well as engagement in social cohesion and democracy education. The goal is to reach political decision-makers with well-founded knowledge and strong coalitions and to anchor sustainable changes in the EU health system. Interested initiatives that prioritize family- and patient-centered concerns will find reliable support here to effectively advance their advocacy processes and improve the care of mothers, newborns, and families in the long term.
