Description

The recipients of this funding offer are cultural and educational institutions as well as associations and individuals who are engaged nationally or internationally in the historical examination of National Socialism and the Holocaust, establishing a clear connection to Austria. The grant supports a wide range of educational projects in Vienna – from seminar series and exhibitions to digital learning platforms, workshops, and eyewitness programs. Initiatives that keep the culture of remembrance alive, promote critical dialogue, and enable synergies with partners from science, culture, and civil society are funded. By pooling expertise in the fields of education, culture, training and further education, as well as culture & media, sustainable impulses are created for both school-based and extracurricular learning environments.

Submissions can be made at any time, as ongoing funding deadlines exist and the budget is generously allocated. Eligible applicants prepare a content-precise project description that highlights existing synergies and demonstrates the Austria reference, and submit a detailed financing plan. For personnel costs, a standardized job description must be attached, while the fully completed application form completes the formal requirements. Following a positive review by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, the payment is made as a grant. For documentation, results, accounting, and impact reports must be submitted punctually in accordance with the General Funding Conditions. In this way, high quality and sustainability in remembrance and educational work are ensured, supported by transparent processes and interdisciplinary networking.
