Description
The Homberg (Ohm) Citizens' Foundation continuously supports charitable projects, measures, and activities in the core city of Homberg (Ohm) as well as its districts. Funding is provided to organizations, associations, companies, and initiatives engaged in the fields of education, youth and elderly care, culture, monument preservation, environmental and animal protection, local heritage, and sports. Applications can be submitted at any time; a standardized funding application form is available online for download. Funding requirements include having a registered office or activity in the core city or its districts, a time-limited focus of the project, and alignment with the foundation’s statutory purposes. Ongoing financing, current maintenance costs, building maintenance measures, and projects with primarily commercial or partisan political objectives are not supported.
The selection focuses on projects characterized by high voluntary commitment, exemplary nature, future viability, sustainability, and self-help. In addition to the completed form, the application requires a project description with goals and concept, a detailed cost and financing plan, a schedule, and information about project management. The board decides on the allocation; funding amounts up to €300 can be waived upon request to simplify the procedure. Following a positive decision, public acknowledgment of the funding in coordination with the foundation is planned. Through this, the Citizens' Foundation sets impulses for a livable hometown and strengthens civic engagement in the greater municipality of Homberg (Ohm).
