Description

The project funding of the Dietmar Hopp Foundation supports non-profit organizations, educational institutions, public institutions as well as clubs and associations in Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, and Rhineland-Palatinate in innovative model and start-up initiatives within the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. Projects in the fields of medicine, education, social affairs, youth sports, and climate protection are funded, provided they demonstrate a model character and sustainable follow-up potential. Applications can be submitted year-round, provided non-profit status is proven, the project has not yet started, and the location is within the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. Eligible expenses include investment costs and scientific work, subprojects in social and educational areas, as well as climate protection measures; regular operating costs, scholarships, and events are excluded.

The foundation specifically provides start-up financing for projects with clear benefits for the region and evaluates submissions based on innovation content, plausibility of planning, relevance to target groups, and sustainability. For the application, a cover letter according to the checklist, a detailed project description with a timeline and budget plan, a financing plan including own and third-party funds, proof of non-profit status, and the current statutes or articles of association are required.
