Description

The project funding of the Gerd Godt-Grell Foundation is aimed at non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, and educational institutions in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. With ongoing application opportunities, grants are awarded for initiatives that strengthen sustainable development, environmental, nature and climate protection, as well as education and culture. A prerequisite for funding is proof of non-profit status. The foundation places special emphasis on projects that promote respectful handling of food and secure the diversity of regional varieties through ecological seed breeding.

Projects are supported in the areas of healthy nutrition, environmental and climate protection, research & innovation, vocational training and further education, as well as culture & media. Examples include action programs for the organic bread box in schools, planting campaigns for traditional orchards, or cooperations for breeding open-pollinated fruit and vegetable varieties. Through financial support, sustainable educational and cultural offerings are to be created that sustainably anchor environmental awareness in northern Germany. With this, the Gerd Godt-Grell Foundation aims to provide important impulses for the preservation of natural living conditions and to strengthen the regional networking of initiatives.
