Description
The project funding of the Nature Conservation Fund Foundation Brandenburg supports region-specific nature conservation initiatives throughout the state with the aim of sustainably preserving and further developing nature and landscape in Brandenburg. Funding is provided for protection, maintenance, and development measures as well as land acquisitions, research, and model projects. Eligible applicants include public institutions, non-profit organizations, companies, and private applicants. Submissions of project proposals requesting funding up to €150,000 are possible at any time. For projects requiring financing above this amount, a deadline applies: complete applications must be submitted by November 1 of the preceding year. A prerequisite is a professional assessment by the responsible lower nature conservation authority or an equivalent specialist authority. Funding covers 100% of personnel expenses, material costs, services, as well as project planning and evaluation services. Non-financeable items include any compensation payments, permanent maintenance or recurring measures, purely planning studies without concrete implementation, and projects outside the state of Brandenburg.
Project selection is based on sustainability, professional and conceptual quality, contribution to habitat connectivity and landscape development, as well as co-financing. Particularly, area-related concepts for the networking of habitats and the stabilization of the landscape water balance are given high priority. Funded measures are intended to have a long-term positive effect on local biodiversity as well as climate and species protection. The application must include, among other documents, a detailed project description, financing plans, cost estimates, map representations, and statements from the nature conservation authorities. The Nature Conservation Fund Foundation Brandenburg thus makes an indispensable contribution to strengthening nature conservation initiatives and preserving the cultural landscape of Brandenburg.
