The Ulm Citizens Foundation supports non-profit organizations based or active in Ulm through continuously granted subsidies for community work. In the key areas of education, youth and elderly care, culture, sports, environmental and nature conservation, as well as health, the grants promote initiatives and projects that serve as exemplary models for social cohesion and democratic engagement. The funding pool is fed by endowments and donations, through which more than 3.8 million euros of foundation assets have already been accumulated and over 3.48 million euros have been distributed to 694 associations, initiatives, and civic actions. Eligible applicants benefit from a straightforward submission process without fixed deadlines and can rely on transparent and reliable support until the final project implementation.

The funding requirements include proof of non-profit status as well as a regional connection to Ulm. Special emphasis is placed on projects that offer innovative approaches to engagement, international understanding, local heritage preservation, work & social affairs, or energy efficiency and climate protection. Financial support is provided for both smaller pilot projects and larger anniversary events, including awareness-raising activities, resource conservation initiatives, or inclusive sports programs.
