Description
The Liebelt Foundation is committed as a nationwide funding institution for contemporary visual arts, with a particular focus on Northern and Eastern Germany. As a non-profit foundation, it supports projects of public institutions, educational establishments, and other non-profit organizations that aim to implement innovative ideas in the art world. The goal of the funding initiative is to create free spaces for creative processes, operational spaces for project realization, and public arenas for debates between art and society. The funding is equally directed at artists, cultural practitioners, and researchers in the field of visual arts who seek support through project and program funding, exhibition grants, or scholarships.
All phases of artistic work are supported: from the production of tangible works and intangible processes to presentation in exhibitions, publications, and discussion forums, as well as conservation and restoration measures. Additionally, art historical research projects, workshops, symposia, and dissertation scholarships are part of the funding portfolio. Applications can be submitted at any time and exclusively by non-profit organizations or public/institutionally supported entities. Private applicants are not considered. Through these continuous and unbureaucratic funding opportunities, the Liebelt Foundation contributes to strengthening idiosyncratic, untested, and exceptional positions in contemporary art and sustainably promotes the exchange between art and society.
