As a grant, up to 90% of eligible costs are covered (max. €200,000), the duration is up to 36 months, and own funds must amount to at least 10%. The goal is to create inclusive shared apartments or several individual apartments with individually tailored participation and assistance services to sustainably strengthen the self-determination and social participation of people with disabilities as well as persons in special social difficulties.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations and public institutions that ensure the participation of the target group. The project start may be up to three months before or after moving in, and requirements regarding room size and sanitary facilities must be observed. Eligible costs include personnel and fee expenses; excluded are expenses for caregivers, personal assistants, and nursing staff, fee costs for board members and managing directors of the applicant’s own organization, as well as costs arising from the Federal Volunteer Service or Voluntary Social Year. Ongoing application submission allows for flexible planning.
