Description

The project funding of public schools by the Berdelle Foundation for Science, Culture, and Technology is aimed nationwide at public schools and – under additional conditions – at state-recognized private schools under non-profit sponsorship. The goal is to strengthen education and science communication in the fields of natural sciences and technology, with a special focus on mechanical engineering, medical/biotechnology, as well as pump, fluid, and conveyor technology. Funding can be provided as a non-repayable grant for events, publications, the acquisition of objects and teaching materials, as well as for personnel. Applications must be submitted by July 31 and October 31 of each year via the online form. Only complete applications will be funded, which, in addition to the completed form, include a cover letter with a project description (maximum two pages) and a detailed financing plan including all third-party grants.

The selection is based on alignment with the foundation’s purpose, the feasibility of the projects, and the completeness of the financing plan. Within a two-month review process, the foundation evaluates autonomously and may involve external reviewers. Approved projects benefit from flexible allocation of funds, whereby responsible and purpose-bound use of funds must be documented. Thanks to this funding initiative, schools can implement innovative learning formats, publish research results, and carry out practice-oriented technology projects. In doing so, the Berdelle Foundation supports committed educational institutions in inspiring enthusiasm for science and technology among learners and motivating the next generation of engineers and researchers.
