Description
Project Funding ReSi+ supports daycare centers nationwide in sustainably strengthening children's resilience and preventing sexualized and domestic violence at an early stage. Funded as a grant by the Federal Ministry of Justice and managed by the German Forum for Crime Prevention Foundation, the initiative targets educational institutions, public agencies, and non-profit organizations. Within a project duration of 36 months, scientifically based prevention and intervention modules are established that involve not only educational professionals but also parents. The goal is to impart competent coping strategies to children aged six to ten in their emotional, social, physical, and linguistic development and to raise their awareness of risks in their environment. Additionally, the continuous development of the program as ReSi+ 6to10 serves to tailor it precisely to the needs of older children and supports agencies in nationwide implementation.
The concept links the strengthening of individual protective factors with regional counseling structures to detect patterns of violence early and prevent subsequent violence. Educational professionals are trained in further education courses and integrated into a network of experts and counseling centers, while parents receive information and action competencies for their protective role. The nationwide implementation creates sustainable structures in daycare centers and contributes to anchoring evidence-based prevention measures in everyday life in the long term. Through close cooperation of all participants, the program promotes the safety and resilience of young people – for a childhood phase free from violence and characterized by self-confidence and social competence.
