Support for doctoral networks for training and research in the field of artificial intelligence in the natural and engineering sciences. Description
The EU initiative RAISE Doctoral Networks for AI in Science (Pilot) supports transnational networks of educational institutions and public research organizations with the aim of establishing excellent doctoral training in the field of Artificial Intelligence in the natural and engineering sciences. With a duration of 48 months and a funding rate of 100%, the program supports the development of novel AI methods, promotes mobility and career opportunities for doctoral candidates, and strengthens collaboration between universities, research institutions, and companies within the EU. The focus is on creating innovative training modules, integrating the latest research findings into doctoral studies, and networking within the RAISE research consortium – a unique forum for the exchange of knowledge and best practices in AI applications in science.
Consortia consisting of at least three independent partners from different EU Member States or associated countries are eligible for funding. Applicant institutions must submit their applications by 24 November 2026 via the MSCA portal. Funding prerequisites include submission under “MSCA Doctoral Networks 2026,” proof of the consortium structure, and compliance with the general and specific MSCA conditions. Application documents include Part A (online), Part B (PDF), CVs of the supervised doctoral candidates, and proof of the consortium. Evaluation criteria are the degree of innovation of the training program, consortium cooperation, and the scientific relevance of AI in research. Submitted projects contribute to positioning Europe as a leading location for AI-supported science.
