Description
REGIO AKTIV – Involvement of Parents in the Career Choice Process of Children (ELTERN BO) is a funding program of the state of Saxony-Anhalt that supports projects through grants in which educational providers as well as recognized providers of independent youth welfare offer practical information and training opportunities. By specifically involving those responsible for upbringing, such as parents, grandparents, other relatives, caregivers, and guardians, their competence to actively shape the career orientation process of students, combined with an intensive engagement with the regional labor market, is to be strengthened. The measures are offered both digitally and analogously to create low-threshold access that enables broad participation.
Within the framework of the program, practical events and training sessions are organized that provide participants with in-depth knowledge about regional employment opportunities, information structures, and counseling services. The funding, provided as a non-repayable grant, primarily targets institutional actors with headquarters or business premises in Saxony-Anhalt. The projects, which run over a period of 36 months, finance both personnel expenses and material costs directly related to project implementation. Special attention is given to the integration of existing structures such as youth employment agencies, practical information databases, career orientation fairs, and further advisory services.
The selection of projects to be funded takes place through a two-stage competitive process. Initially, within the framework of the Regional Working Groups (RAK), the submitted project proposals are evaluated based on criteria such as professional suitability, quality of the concept, expected results, and efficiency. Following this pre-selection, the formal application is submitted to the approving authority, the State Administration Office of Saxony-Anhalt in Dessau-Roßlau. This funding program thus makes a significant contribution to the integration of young people into the labor market by systematically networking supportive measures of those responsible for upbringing with regional education and labor market strategies. The program thereby offers transparent, targeted funding that enables all involved actors to sustainably strengthen their competencies.
