Description
The funding program "Training of Upper Austrian Municipal Officials" supports the continuous educational, service, and informational work for municipal council members in Upper Austria. Contributions are granted for training expenses, personnel costs, as well as infrastructural expenditures. The funding recipients are, on the one hand, the educational institutions of political parties and local voter groups, and on the other hand, mandate holders without faction affiliation who receive the training contribution personally. The program aims to strengthen professional qualification and communicative exchange among municipal representatives, as well as to secure the work in municipal councils in the long term. The grant is provided as a direct subsidy and is continuously available without an application deadline.
Eligible to apply are interest groups, associations, and private individuals, provided they represent members of municipal councils in Upper Austria. The basis for calculating the funding amount is the mandate status and the distribution of mandates as of January 1 of the respective payment year. A separate application, declaration of funding, or proof of expenditure is not required. The program is divided into the thematic areas of training & further education as well as education and is administratively managed by the Upper Austrian State Government, Directorate Presidency, Department Presidency. The budgeted volume amounts to approximately 2.3 million euros and ensures sustainable support for local democratic work.
