Description

The Dr. Jürgen and Irmgard Ulderup Foundation supports the SMART TEACHERS workshops, a practical and free training series for teachers in Lower Saxony. The focus is on two compact half-day seminars: "AI in the Classroom – Practical and Secure" imparts to secondary school teachers (grades I and II) the reflective use of generative artificial intelligence in everyday school life. Using their own devices, participants practice concrete prompt formulations and explore ethical as well as legal aspects of AI usage. Complementing this, the LEGO® Spike Essential Workshop offers primary school teachers playful entry points into STEM topics. From an overview of components through initial programming steps to linking with curricula, ideas for creative teaching units are developed. Both formats are led by recognized experts and take place in Diepholz.

The workshops are 100% eligible for funding and free of charge. Registration requires only a completed registration form and the privacy policy. Interested teachers can secure their place by December 17, 2025, for the robotics course or by January 30, 2026, for the AI workshop. The events start from January 2026. The target audience is individuals employed in schools who wish to expand their digital and STEM competencies. Thanks to the regional offering, this presents an excellent opportunity to learn innovative teaching methods and pass them on within the faculty. The limited number of participants ensures intensive support and immediate knowledge exchange among attendees.
