Description

The Sparkassenstiftung Lüneburg – Sustainability Funding Fund supports non-profit initiatives, foundations, and public-law entities based in or conducting project activities in the Hanseatic City of Lüneburg as well as in the Lüneburg district. The focus is on practical projects for nature and environmental protection, landscape conservation, and climate protection. Both investment measures and actions and events are funded with a financing rate of up to 50% (for investments a maximum of 33% of the total costs). A prerequisite is non-profit status according to § 52 AO without commercial backgrounds. A detailed cost and financing plan as well as, upon request by the foundation, the exemption notice are part of every application. Ongoing personnel and material costs are not funded; all submitted expenses must be documented after project completion.

Applications can be submitted at any time, whereby the disbursement of approved funds must take place within twelve months after approval. In case of changes in the financing plan, the foundation reserves the right to adjust or reclaim the funding amount. This deficit financing ensures that resources are used efficiently and according to needs. The funding offers non-profit organizations the opportunity to realize local sustainability projects, implement innovative environmental actions, and strengthen awareness of climate protection in the Lüneburg region.
