Elite Sports Promotion

The elite sports funding of the State of Tyrol is aimed at Tyrolean sports associations and sports clubs with teams competing in the first or second Bundesliga, as well as recognized associations that operate sports performance centers or organize cross-club squad measures. This funding primarily covers coaching costs and competition expenses to provide athletes with optimal conditions. Furthermore, financial support is directed towards the establishment and operation of sports performance centers as well as squad promotion measures that serve the long-term development of elite sports in Tyrol. Grants are awarded in the form of subsidies and can be applied for continuously, with the deadlines being set annually by resolution of the State Sports Council.

Eligible for funding are interest groups, clubs, and non-profit organizations based in Tyrol. Requirements for a successful application include, among others, recognition of the sport by the Tyrolean State Sports Council, participation in an Austrian Bundesliga of the first or second competitive level, and membership in a recognized sports association. Additionally, suitable sports facilities and training bases must be available for regular training activities. A fully completed application form including all listed documents must be submitted. Approval is granted following the annual resolution of the State Sports Council; the respective deadlines can be found in the current forms. This transparently organized support aims to create sustainable performance structures and further strengthen Tyrol’s international competitiveness in elite sports.
