Description

With the aid fund amounting to €15,000, the Bürgerstiftung Sundern enables targeted sports promotion for youth in North Rhine-Westphalia. The aim of this special measure is to strengthen youth work in non-profit sports clubs during the coronavirus pandemic and to sustainably reinforce the sense of community. Clubs were invited to submit original concepts that combine digital training formats, video challenges, or social actions and ensure contact with young members. In addition to the creative idea, the evaluation focuses primarily on the impact on club cohesion and the quality of implementation in the area of children’s and youth sports. The fund is exclusively aimed at registered clubs and interest groups with non-profit status that actively promote a lively communication culture and sporting activities.

Interested sports clubs can apply for a grant by submitting a detailed project concept as well as evidence of activities carried out during the pandemic. A prerequisite is the documentation of an innovative approach to promoting community and physical activity under challenging conditions. The careful review is based on the criteria of creativity, impact on the sense of community, and quality of youth work. This funding aims to set sustainable impulses that offer attractive opportunities within the club for young people and bind them in the long term. The Bürgerstiftung Sundern emphasizes that only projects with verifiable non-profit orientation will be supported and that the funds are awarded as a one-time grant.
