Seed Funding for School Partnerships Berlin–Tel Aviv

Starting in May 2025, the David Ben-Gurion Foundation in Germany will, for the first time, support new school partnerships between Berlin and Tel Aviv with targeted travel start-up assistance. With an annual budget of EUR 10,000, it promotes the initiation of initial exchange trips to strengthen intercultural dialogue and initiate sustainable educational cooperation. Designed as a grant, at least EUR 1,000 per application can be allocated for travel-related costs. The funds are available flexibly, as ongoing applications can be submitted at any time.

Supported are German-Israeli projects jointly implemented by educational institutions from Berlin or Tel Aviv together with their teachers and students. A newly established school partnership between the two metropolises and the exclusive use of the funds for travel expenses are prerequisites. Thus, the program is equally aimed at Israeli and German schools seeking the first step towards exchanges and professional dialogue. The initiative contributes to international understanding by enabling young people to explore cultural perspectives and deepen intercultural competencies.
