Description

The dust reduction measure promotes nationwide investment in air pollution control measures at existing industrial and commercial facilities in Austria. The goal is to prevent and minimize air pollutants, particularly PM10 dust emissions. Funding is provided for both technical components such as particulate filters, catalytic after-treatment systems, thermal afterburning plants, or hall extraction systems, as well as planning and installation. Applicant companies, interest groups, non-profit organizations, associations, and religious institutions engaged in entrepreneurial activities can submit a grant application online at any time from 01.03.2024. Eligible costs include the acquisition and retrofitting of air pollution control systems, planning and installation costs, as well as measurement reports and emission analyses. Retroactive costs, operating costs, and real estate acquisition remain ineligible. Small and medium-sized enterprises particularly benefit from this measure.

Project selection is based on environmental impact and emission reduction, degree of innovation, as well as economic efficiency and payback period. A prerequisite is the application submission before the first legally binding order, delivery, or start of construction. For submission, a technical description, offers and cost estimates, completed data sheets for air pollution control and measurement reports, and, if applicable, a report from the credit institution for investment volumes exceeding €500,000 are required. After complete submission, the experts at Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH review the project, request additional documents if necessary, and make a funding proposal. Following commission approval, a funding contract is offered, which is accepted online. After project completion, the final accounting and proofs must be submitted within six months. This funding instrument makes a significant contribution to air pollution control and supports companies in implementing sustainable environmental technologies.
