Foundation for Environmental and Nature Conservation MV

The Environmental and Nature Conservation Foundation MV supports project-based measures that serve the public good and promote the preservation of natural resources in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In the funding areas of environmental/nature conservation, climate protection, animal welfare, and energy efficiency, initiatives are supported that make a sustainable contribution to landscape management and environmental education. Funding can be granted as a non-repayable subsidy of up to €1,000. The funding is aimed at applicants such as private individuals, companies, and public institutions who possess the necessary qualifications to successfully implement their projects. The Foundation places particular emphasis on transparent and targeted funding projects, which also include activities related to awareness-raising and research.

The funding program is directed at committed actors who wish to realize their projects in the spirit of nature conservation and sustainable landscape management. The funding supports both the acquisition and sustainable development of suitable areas as well as projects that promote natural history and ecological dialogue. Through targeted grants, measures are advanced that, in addition to direct environmental protection, also serve education and training in this field. Only funds intended for project-related initiatives are used—wage subsidies, travel expense reimbursements, and consultancy fees are considered non-eligible expenses. Thus, the Foundation ensures that financial resources are used exclusively for the implementation of sustainable environmental and nature conservation measures.

Ongoing funding enables interested applicants to submit suitable projects at any time, provided they meet the requirements of the funding program and comply with the criteria set out in the funding guidelines. The grants are designed as deficit financing and are awarded taking into account a reasonable own contribution. The Foundation supports projects ideally substantiated by detailed descriptions, cost estimates, and, where possible, supplementary map material. This funding measure significantly contributes to strengthening regional nature conservation by paving the way for innovative concepts in landscape management and environmental education. Through its commitment, the Foundation ensures that the protection of natural livelihoods in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is sustainably promoted and further developed.
