Description
The Hartmut and Lore Schuler Foundation honors outstanding talents in the fields of science and art and supports particularly gifted students and doctoral candidates up to the age of 35 with financial grants. Based in North Rhine-Westphalia, the foundation awards scholarships as well as study allowances to sustainably promote academic achievements and artistic potential. Excellence and personal commitment are equally emphasized: a brief specialist teacher’s assessment and a personality report document professional qualifications and individual motivation. Academic references demonstrate outstanding performance, while the concept of education and further training bridges science, research, and cultural creation.
Applications are submitted twice a year by the end of February and the end of August respectively, either by post or preferably by email. The application package includes a detailed, written curriculum vitae with school and academic background, important certificates in copy, as well as the fully completed application form. Selection is based on scientific achievements, personal commitment, and the quality of the assessments. Decisions are made promptly, with no justification provided in case of rejection. This funding opportunity is aimed at students and doctoral candidates who consistently pursue their academic goals and wish to make a decisive contribution to research or art.
