Scholarship Funding by the Iwanson-Sixt Foundation

The Iwanson-Sixt Foundation supports talented emerging and experienced contemporary dancers nationwide with a variety of scholarships and awards. Individuals from the dance sector can continuously apply for funding of up to €7,000. The offerings include the TAKE-OFF scholarship for outstanding training achievements, scholarships for highly gifted individuals and training, as well as project, travel, and further education grants. Since its founding in 2007, around 300 scholarships have been awarded and numerous individual projects supported. Additionally, the foundation honors choreographers and dance educators with the biennially awarded Isadora Prize, recognizing those who have significantly shaped the development of contemporary dance through exceptional achievements.

The funding objectives aim to facilitate young talents' entry into a professional career and to strengthen experienced artists in their further education. In addition to classic training grants, the funding enables participation in renowned summer courses, international exchange programs, and guest performances. Both dance students and established performers benefit from the flexible application procedures: applications can be submitted at any time. By specifically recognizing excellence in contemporary dance, the foundation makes a valuable contribution to the artistic diversity and quality of the German dance scene and offers committed dancers sustainable support for their artistic development.
