Funding objective
The Tyrolean Innovation Promotion aims to sustainably enhance the innovative strength and competitiveness of the Tyrolean economy, to establish a strategic innovation culture, to improve know-how and technology transfer between companies and research institutions, as well as to increase cooperation and participation in national and EU funding programs.

Description
The Tyrolean Innovation Promotion supports companies, educational institutions, and other organizations with a commercial establishment in Tyrol in advancing research, development, and innovative initiatives. Funding is provided for initiative projects, research, development, and innovation undertakings, as well as cooperative projects involving at least three partners (of which at least two are companies). Innovation assistants can also be employed and qualified for up to 24 months. Eligible entities include micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and in selected sectors also large enterprises, research institutions, and tourism associations. The funding rate ranges between 40% and 75%, depending on the project focus. Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material and supply costs, external services, as well as qualification and coaching costs. Applications can be submitted continuously until no later than 31.12.2027.
The objective of the funding is the sustainable enhancement of the innovation capacity and competitiveness of the Tyrolean economy. It promotes the development of a strategic innovation culture, improves knowledge and technology transfer between companies and research institutions, and strengthens regional cooperation. Evaluation criteria include the level of innovation, economic feasibility, sustainability, knowledge gain, regional relevance, and quality of collaboration. Requirements for application processing are a location in Tyrol, a valid trade license, involvement of at least three partners in cooperative projects, and for innovation assistants, a permanent employment relationship with proof of qualification. Applications are submitted electronically via the web form of the Department of Economic Location, Digitalization, and Science of the State of Tyrol.
