Description

The trilateral Genshagen Summer School is aimed at master’s students from the Europa-Universität Viadrina, Sorbonne Université, and a partner university in Poland. Each year, 24 places are awarded to dedicated early-career researchers to work on key European policy issues in a practical setting. Set in the historic surroundings of Genshagen Castle, the program focuses on interactive workshops, fireside chats with young decision-makers from politics, academia, and civil society, as well as a cultural framework program including an excursion to Berlin. This approach not only imparts professional expertise but also actively promotes cross-border networking and exchange within the Weimar Triangle.

Participation is supported as a funding measure by the Genshagen Foundation and aims to strengthen democratic engagement and social cohesion in Europe. Emerging experts gain insights into current migration and neighborhood issues as well as other focal topics to deepen their analytical and practical skills. The application period opens each spring, and interested candidates can apply easily online. The Summer School takes place in the Brandenburg region and enables master’s students to gain diverse impulses for their academic and professional development. This unique combination of political education, intercultural dialogue, and networking creates ideal conditions for a thorough engagement with Europe’s future prospects.
