Support for postgraduate scientific further education through monthly pension payments for particularly gifted graduates of universities of applied sciences and universities who have completed the majority of their schooling in the city or district of Stendal.

Description
The Hans and Eugenia Jütting Foundation in Stendal awards monthly grants for postgraduate scientific further education to particularly gifted graduates of universities of applied sciences and universities. A prerequisite is that at least 50% of the schooling took place in the city or district of Stendal. Selected institutes and universities with high renown at home or abroad offer the scholarship holders an excellent research or master’s environment. The funding amounts to €650 per month for stays within Germany and €850 per month for stays abroad and is initially granted for a period of twelve months. Application deadlines are January 1 and July 1 of each year.
In addition to outstanding school and academic achievements, well-founded letters of recommendation are also considered in the selection process. Application documents in German must be submitted in full and include, among others:
- curriculum vitae
- copy of the high school diploma or university entrance qualification
- certificate of the first university degree
- description of the planned doctoral or master’s project
- letter of recommendation from university lecturers
- proof of ranking in the examination cohort (if available)
Subsequently, the Scientific Advisory Board reviews all timely applications and creates a ranking list. The Foundation’s Board of Directors makes a decision no later than two months after the respective deadline. With this targeted regional funding, the Foundation supports talented early-career researchers in pursuing their career goals at internationally recognized research institutions.
