Description
The funding program Grants for Water Management Measures in Rhineland-Palatinate is aimed at municipal authorities, companies, and other public infrastructure providers implementing water management projects of public interest. Investments such as construction measures for water supply and wastewater disposal, expert reports and planning services, cleanup, demolition and disposal work, as well as land acquisition and consulting or project management services are funded. The grant is provided as a subsidy (80 – 90% of eligible costs) and an interest-free loan with a term of up to 36 months. Prerequisites include inclusion in the medium-term investment program (MIP – funding) and existing public-law permits at the time of approval. Applications can be submitted continuously via the electronic MIP funding procedure.
Exemplary projects with a high degree of innovation, pronounced climate protection aspects, and economic viability are supported. A central criterion is the efficient use of water resources as well as a moderate fee level for the population. Exclusions include, for example, maintenance and operating costs or house connections. Application documents include, among others, damage assessments, cost calculations, water law permits, as well as municipal supervisory statements and evaluations by a jury of expert specialists.
