Description
The purpose grant according to the Rescue and Civil Protection Organizations Support Act strengthens the performance and resilience of legally or administratively recognized rescue and civil protection organizations in cases of crisis and disaster. The federal government provides the federal states annually with €18,000,000 as a subsidy to enable targeted investments in emergency vehicles, emergency equipment, gear, and infrastructure. The funding measure is ongoing and is granted within the framework of public institutions. The allocation of funds aims to ensure a high level of operational readiness and supply security, while simultaneously expanding regional crisis preparedness in the areas of disaster protection, infrastructure, labor & social affairs, as well as infrastructure & urban development.
Eligible for funding are institutions recognized as rescue or civil protection organizations by a federal state or by administrative act. Applications can be submitted from 01.01.2024 onwards, with the disbursement of approved funds taking place no later than 31.03. of each year. A prerequisite for the grant is the proof of use in accordance with the guidelines of the Federal Ministry of the Interior. Eligible expenses include the purchase of emergency vehicles, emergency equipment, gear, as well as infrastructure measures. The funding applies throughout Austria – from Burgenland through Carinthia, Lower and Upper Austria, Salzburg and Styria to Tyrol, Vorarlberg, and Vienna – and makes an important contribution to ensuring a comprehensive, high-performance crisis and disaster protection structure.
