About the funder

The A. and E. Korus Foundation is a private, non-profit foundation based in Norderney. It was established in 1983 by Eduard Emil Paul Korus and his mother Alwine Korus and pursues exclusively charitable and non-profit purposes. The foundation particularly supports welfare services, elderly and youth assistance, sports, as well as needy individuals residing on the island of Norderney. Since its inception, funds totaling approximately EUR 3.5 million (as of 2022) have been made available successively. The foundation's assets mainly consist of real estate and capital investments, the preservation and continuous growth of which are ensured through a prudent investment strategy.

Mission & Vision

The A. and E. Korus Foundation is committed to sustainably strengthening and promoting the common good on the North Sea island of Norderney. Our goal is to support associations, deserving projects, and individuals in need through financial grants, in order to enable a vibrant community and social participation. We are dedicated to preserving and increasing the foundation’s assets permanently, to ensure continuous funding for future generations. In doing so, we invite the citizens and guests of Norderney to contribute as donors to the growth of our assets.

Target groups

The funding programs of the A. and E. Korus Foundation are aimed at clubs, non-profit organizations, projects worthy of support, as well as needy individuals based in Norderney. Regular recipients of grants are particularly sports clubs, church institutions, social service providers, and initiatives engaged in welfare, elderly and youth assistance, and local sports promotion.
