About the funder

The Alexander Tutsek Foundation is a non-profit private foundation based in Munich. Since its establishment in December 2000 by entrepreneur Alexander Tutsek and Dr. Eva-Maria Fahrner-Tutsek, it has supported contemporary art (with a focus on glass and photography) as well as scientific research in engineering sciences, particularly glass, ceramics, and related fields. Its activities include its own exhibition programs (BlackBox & BlackBox FirstFloor), the development of a growing art collection, support for emerging projects, as well as the awarding of scholarships and funding, such as scholarships for the Pilchuck Glass School and Deutschlandstipendien for students.

Mission & Vision

The Alexander Tutsek Foundation aims to sustainably strengthen neglected or special areas in art and science, thereby contributing to social progress and interdisciplinary exchange. It believes in the transformative power of art and research and provides artists, scientists, students, and institutions with financial and organizational support to enable them to realize innovative projects and further develop their skills.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Alexander Tutsek Foundation are aimed at freelance artists specializing in glass and photography residing in Germany, scientists and researchers in engineering sciences (glass, ceramics, stones & earth), students and doctoral candidates at universities and universities of applied sciences, as well as museums, exhibition venues, and research institutions conducting projects in the fields of art (particularly photography and glass) and engineering sciences.
