About the funder

The non-profit Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation is the testamentary legacy of Dr.-Ing. E. h. Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach, the last owner of the company Fried. Krupp. Since its establishment on January 1, 1968, the politically and denominationally independent foundation has consistently and directly used the proceeds from its corporate holdings for charitable purposes. With an endowment of more than one billion euros, it promotes, both domestically and internationally, in particular science and research including support for young talent, education and training, healthcare, sports, literature, music, visual arts, as well as other charitable projects.

Mission & Vision

The Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation is committed to stimulating new developments through targeted funding activities in its five statutory areas, promoting creativity and commitment, and creating equal opportunities. It aims to strengthen the development of science and higher education, contribute to international understanding, and improve the education of younger generations.

Target groups

The funding programs are aimed at research institutions, universities, and researchers at all career stages, educational institutions, artists, cultural workers, sports clubs, as well as non-profit projects in healthcare. Individuals, groups, and institutions in Germany, Europe, and worldwide that pursue innovative approaches and make a sustainable contribution to the common good are supported.
