About the funder
The ascent Foundation was established on September 25, 2001, as a foundation under civil law. Its purpose is to promote development cooperation as well as youth and elderly care both domestically and abroad. The foundation particularly supports and finances children’s and elderly homes, youth and elderly projects, and facilities for people with disabilities. Previous projects include, among others, a children’s home for social orphans in Belarus, a home for physically and mentally disabled children in Moldova, and the funding of school fees for needy children in South Africa. In Germany, the ascent Foundation is primarily involved in several play and learning centers in Karlsruhe, offering socially disadvantaged children low-threshold educational and care services.
