About the funder
The Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund is a non-profit foundation under public law, established in 1982. The foundation is based in Munich and serves as a central institution for the protection, maintenance, and development of nature and landscape in Bavaria. The foundation supports projects that contribute to the preservation of biodiversity, the safeguarding and development of habitats, and the conservation of regionally typical landscapes. The foundation’s funds originate from the returns on its endowment capital, the GlücksSpirale lottery, and government grants. The Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund awards the Bavarian Biodiversity Prize "Nature.Diversity.Bavaria" every two years for outstanding achievements in species and habitat conservation.

Mission & Vision
The Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund is committed to securing biodiversity and protecting endangered species. Target groups
The funding programs of the Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund are aimed at nature conservation and landscape management associations as well as municipalities in Bavaria. These project sponsors contribute a co-financing share of 15 to 50 percent. The foundation supports projects that pursue an innovative approach and make a contribution to the preservation of biodiversity and the development of habitats. The goal is to secure biological diversity and increase acceptance of nature conservation measures.
