Funding of the Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund

The Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund supports diverse environmental and nature conservation initiatives in Bavaria, focusing on the preservation of biodiversity as well as the development of ecologically valuable habitats. Additionally, the fund awards the prestigious Bavarian Biodiversity Prize “Nature.Diversity.Bavaria” every two years, with the application period running from November 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026. This prize honors outstanding achievements in species and habitat protection. Professional associations, farmers, and other project leaders benefit from a transparent funding guideline aimed at securing and restoring ecologically valuable landscape elements. With its resources from government grants, income from its endowment capital, and the GlücksSpirale lottery, the fund makes a central contribution to the sustainable development of Bavaria’s natural environment.
