About the funder

The Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (BMSGPK) is the budget-managing authority of the Austrian Federal Government for the policy areas of labour, social affairs, health, care, and consumer protection. In Section VII European Union, the Ministry administers EU funds within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) to implement national funding programs. A key project is the special directive "Start-up Support for Primary Care Units (PVE) Type A," which directly supports the establishment of new multiprofessional PVEs in Austria, thereby strengthening comprehensive primary care.

Mission & Vision

Section VII European Union of the BMSGPK is committed to using EU funding transparently and efficiently to strengthen social and health infrastructure in Austria. Its goal is to sustainably expand primary care, particularly in rural and underserved regions, through targeted investments and to ensure health care that meets the needs of all population groups.

Target groups

The funding measures are aimed at resident physicians and members of other legally regulated health professions, at legal entities provided for in the Primary Care Act (PrimVG) with approval from the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (§ 14 para. 6 PrimVG) or through the selection process, as well as at PVE holding companies whose shareholders hold more than 50% of the shares and who apply together with a future PVE.
