About the funder
The Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI) is the highest federal authority in Austria responsible for national innovation, mobility, and infrastructure policy. Within Section II (Mobility), Department II/1 (Mobility Transition), it coordinates programs and funding measures to accelerate the transition to emission-free commercial vehicles and buses, as well as to develop the necessary charging and refueling infrastructure. In cooperation with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) and largely financed by the European Union under NextGeneration EU & REPowerEU, the ministry provides non-repayable investment grants, thereby making a significant contribution to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 (or 2040 at the national level) in the transport sector.
