About the funder
The Brost Foundation is a non-profit foundation under civil law based in Essen. It was established in 2011 in fulfillment of the testamentary wishes of Anneliese Brost and continues her social and cultural commitment in the Ruhr area. The foundation supports knowledge-based, conceptually strong, courageous, and forward-looking projects that promote cooperation, community, and proactive self-help in the region. The focus is on innovative initiatives whose impact extends beyond the Ruhr area.

Target groups
The funding programs of the Brost Foundation are primarily aimed at non-profit corporations, legal entities under public law, and initiatives with a regional connection to the Ruhr area. Support is provided especially to institutions and organizations in the fields of youth and elderly care as well as welfare services, cultural and art projects, educational initiatives (general and vocational education), public health and nursing institutions, and charitable measures within the meaning of non-profit law. Projects can be implemented as the foundation’s own projects or as external projects, and scholarships for individuals are also possible.
