Bürgerstiftung Achim

The Bürgerstiftung Achim is a non-profit community foundation, established on December 11, 2005, by 36 founding donors with initial capital of €55,000. Today, it has an endowment of approximately €200,000. Independent, non-partisan, and non-denominational, it raises funds whose proceeds are used to support local charitable projects in Achim. It supports both its own initiatives and associations in the fields of education and upbringing, youth and elderly care, public health, arts, culture and monument preservation, as well as environmental, nature, and landscape protection. The foundation is subject to state foundation supervision and the tax office.

The Bürgerstiftung Achim is committed to preserving Achim as a livable and sustainable city. It promotes the sense of responsibility and solidarity among its citizens, strengthens identification with the city, and encourages self-responsible engagement. Through financial and non-material support, it accompanies civic initiatives and coordinates existing efforts to sustainably promote the common good.

The target group of the Bürgerstiftung Achim consists of civically engaged individuals, associations, initiatives, non-profit organizations, companies, and groups in the Achim area. Projects supported are those with a high level of volunteer involvement, model and exemplary character, as well as innovative and sustainable approaches that do not fall under the municipality's mandatory tasks and contribute to education, social welfare, culture, or environmental protection.
