About the funder

The BürgerStiftung Rommerskirchen was founded at the end of 2008 by committed citizens of the municipality of Rommerskirchen and is supported by the municipal administration as well as Sparkasse Neuss. As an economically, politically, and denominationally independent foundation, it solicits endowments, invests its capital permanently and profitably, and collects donations. With the generated funds, it promotes its own projects and supports third parties in the areas of youth and elderly care, upbringing and education, culture, environment, science, sports, local heritage preservation, and civic engagement.

Mission & Vision

The Bürgerstiftung Rommerskirchen sees itself as a promoter and advocate for a socially and culturally open as well as sustainable development of the municipality of Rommerskirchen for all citizens. It supports initiatives and institutions in the fields of youth and elderly care, education and upbringing, international understanding and tolerance, public health, science and research, arts and culture, local heritage and customs preservation, nature, environmental and monument protection, as well as civic engagement and volunteer work.

Target groups

The foundation is aimed at all residents, clubs, associations, and local businesses of the municipality of Rommerskirchen. It supports project sponsors and initiatives that plan or carry out activities in the specified fields of action, thereby sustainably strengthening the community. The foundation also supports individuals, for example through scholarships or grants, particularly young people and senior citizens.
