About the funder

The Bürgerstiftung Sauerlach is a public foundation under civil law, recognized by the Government of Upper Bavaria on December 4, 2007. It was founded by committed citizens with the aim of providing assistance where the municipality's resources are insufficient. The foundation promotes and initiates projects exclusively for the benefit of the citizens of the municipality of Sauerlach in the areas of youth and elderly care, culture and monument preservation, tradition and customs, environmental and nature conservation, as well as civic engagement. Funding sources include income from the foundation's capital (currently €71,000), donations, and bequests. The allocation of funds is carried out transparently by the board and the foundation council in accordance with legal requirements and advised by trained volunteers.

Mission & Vision

The Bürgerstiftung Sauerlach sees itself as a community institution by citizens for citizens and is committed to providing sustainable impulses for the common good. We support projects that strengthen social cohesion, preserve cultural diversity, and promote the protection of our environment. With long-term thinking and civic engagement, we aim to continuously improve the quality of life in our home community.

Target groups

The Bürgerstiftung Sauerlach is aimed at all residents and local institutions of the municipality of Sauerlach. Eligible to apply are individuals, groups, associations, and non-profit organizations wishing to implement projects in the funded areas of action. The goal is to consolidate civic engagement locally and to allocate grants where they provide the greatest benefit to the community.
